Paavanaguru - Book on Chembai

Chembai Smruthi Gana Sabha released a book on Chembai in Malayalam edited by noted musician, musicologist and well-known scholar Sangeetha Kalanidhi T K Govinda Rao.  The book - Paavanaguru - contain articles written by his direct disciples, about different facets of his music like technique, aesthetics, tradition etc.  Relevant memories of art lovers about his life and career and immemorable life sketches of Chembai by people who have associated with him in different experiences of his life.    The book was released by Pt. Satish Vyas during the inaugural function of Chembai Music Festival 2003.

The English Translation of 'Paavanaguru' is expected by mid of 2007.

Music Library

To add colour to our academic activities 500 hrs of music recordings already acquired for the Music Library.  Generations of Musicians ranging from Tiger Varadachari to the youngsters are being recorded for those approach music seriously.  The music library is expected to start by mid of 2008 with a 1500 hrs. records.
